Actually, if you look at the figures(and I have), there's been a steady decline in movie sales since the 90s, and that's attributed to both the rise in cost and piracy.

Once again. Cheap tickets+no piracy=success. What Cameron did was NOT erase piracy, he just made a movie that is so good to see in theaters that people who download it
still go see it in theaters multiple times.
