I have no idea if you are honest or not, and I don't care either. The post was a general warning to benefit people who haven't been there or been around many pickpockets and scammers in third world countries.

Sorry to hear you get scammed here. Your links are outdated and the second link its totally irrelevant in this situation. But its funny because italians had a similar situation back in the years screaming "not all italians are criminals"..
