I dunno, I have all forms of billing, and clearly credit cards are king on English websites even when geo filtered billing is in place.

I haven't tried translating sites into different languages, but perhaps with this more EU customers will use the E-bank and UK direct Debit and stuff.

Anything that is attached to a checking account is a nightmare, constantly getting booted back, recaptured, then crediting back. Don't believe the propaganda by the alternative billers, Credit cards bill the best & rebill the best... period.
