Measuring the 1st page ratio is a much more accurate way to judge the over-all effectiveness of a tour, and saleability of a site.
Join page hits are filtered. Of course they want to buy. Of course the ratio will look good compared to 1st page uniques. 1st page hits are much less filtered, and a much better over-all status of how traffic performs... and a much better way of measuring whether your traffic as an affiliate does better with Site A or Site B.
