my sister has 2 degrees and is head of HR at a big company in calgary and she is only in her late 20s, and guess what she turns on when she watches TV? bing bang boom. these nerd loser guys are the types who take women out for coffee and talk about the most boring shit and wonder why they do not get laid.

Ok I'll try to contribute, let's try to figure out at least one of the roots of these days popular super nerdy behavior of men, who can't spell BALLS without feeling dirty.
I guess it's FRIENDS and these other similar series full of ultra politically correct "fun", surreal non conflicting plots and no hormones - just babbling and juvenile bullshit. You could find more testosterone in a catholic girlschool than in those TV series.
I gotta agree I watched that when this was in its prime, to find out what's the hype, I was curious.
OK, I suspect this TV series are made PRIMARILY for young females, cause they usually watch TV more, they watch more adverts, they just need to assure time from time that at least on TV things work the way they should but can't etc.
But guess what happened - young dudes desperately trying to get laid, piling a foot after foot of used cleenex in their rooms started to watch that too, to be in!
Just so they can have a chat next day in school or at the college or at the McDonalds or in the park, but that was not all - they went even further as they started to ACT LIKE THIS!
No more Clint Eastwood poster hanging on the wall as in his father's times, but a pink shirt and a nerdy SENSITIVE TV attitude.
You think that really worked? Guess what - their chances to get laid went even much worse!!
Why? Cause women and men are animals, not a TV program.
