sure it is a threat. it is a threat to him, to his company, to all affiliates who could be found liable for contributory infringement (i.e. your potential webmasters that you are threatening as well) and you have chosen to disparage a competitor by making unproven allegations as you launch a competing product in the same market place.
you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
