I can't remember which GFYer presented this thesis, but hopefully someone will chime in and credit him or her. Essentially they said that in order to remain profitable as a content (re)seller, it's now more a matter of how many times over you can sell the content rather than how much you can charge for the content per single license. I suppose that would explain the abundance of content deals that we're beginning to see.
