We once did a roadtrip from Vegas(through Joshua Tree Park) > San Diego > LA > San Fran(Hwy 1).
Had a few stops in between (Pismo Beach for example. Not recommended
)
Big Sur kicks ass, especially at the end of the afternoon. I think both drives are awesome and can't really chose to be honest :P
