it's a bit soggy at the valley level, but the alpine is rocking. it's snowed over 130 cm the past 7 days, snowed around 10 last night, and should snow everyday this week. main detractor here right now is it's insanely busy. yesterday i saw the biggest line-ups at the lifts in my entire 6 years in Whistler. my girl works for intrawest, and i guess they broke the record for the most people ever on the mountain, 28K. crazy. traffic is out of sight too. the drive from the village to creekside, normally a 5 minute drive, is now taking 40 minutes. oh, and if you want to park, make sure you stay at a place that is walking distance to the lifts, VANOC has taken over all most all public parking, and will take over 100% of it in the next 10 days. we were going to take off for the olympics to Mexico, but of course i got reeled in because friends and family wanted to come and stay at my place for it.
