Although the McDonalds case is used as the poster child for frivolous lawsuits, that wasn't the case at all.

Most importantly, the woman tried to settle several times for just her expenses and was told to fuck off, that's why she sued. She only ended up getting three times her expenses even though the judge himself called the behavior of McDonalds reckless and dangerous.

Don't forget, when you hear about a a big settlement, it's a jury that hands out that money, a jury of regular people. Not to mention, do you think regular folks go around defeating staffs of corporate lawyers when they only have a flimsy case?

Big companies have virtually limitless legal resources to defend themselves, when they lose it's because they were wrong.

Frivolous lawsuits are practically an urban myth.
