I guess what I meant by my post is that in a way the republicans kind of pulled a similar situation as the democrats in this election. They just assumed that they could put any republican candidate up for that spot in NY and win. So when they didn't like the candidate they had they removed her and put in someone that was more conservative and better fit the mold of what they wanted and it cost them. The democrats did the same thing here. They assumed they could put anyone up for that seat and win and by the time they realized they were wrong it was too late.
So I wonder why the woman that ran for congress wasn't "conservative" enough for many republicans and warranted being removed, but this guy Brown who is more left leaning than many republicans is just fine?
Brown could be the new mold. He could prove to be a leader and lead the republicans in a way that helps them be fiscally conservative without bashing people over the head with their morality. He could also be a flash in the pan. He basically ran on the "vote for me and I will stop the health care bill" ticket so he will have to show he is more than just that or he may well lose his re-election big in 2012. You know the democrats will go hard after his seat in 2012 so he will need to do something to prove he is worthy of keeping it.
