I feel your pain. Last week I heard a crashing noise outside and a car peel out and got out side and there were footprints on my hood and my windshield was kicked in. It shattered but the safety glass held and didn't go into the car. Cops said there was pretty much nothing they could do unless I had caught them in the act. Not worth reporting on my insurance and taking a hit. Much easier to just pay out of pocket for it.
