The penalty took away their chance for a FG by running the ball on 3rd down. I don't think it matter that Farve threw the INT or if it would have been incomplete. Actually if it would have been incomplete there would have been about 14 seconds on the clock instead of 7. They would have been faced with a 4th and 15 from their own 38 yard line. I don't think they would have tried 55 yarder, you miss that you give the Saints the ball back at almost mid field with little time left. But who knows.....

yeah but even a 50 yard attempt at the end is still a chance at the win, they didn't even get that chance because of that dumb week 1 caliber mistake of too many men in the huddle.
It's not a tragedy though, NO is just as deserving to get to the bowl this year really anyway.
