It's not really all that complicated.
Come up with a better word then. "Genre" comes close but just don't quite say it. There's the overall market (mainstream, fetish, adult in general, etc) and there are sub-categories called NICHES (foot, balloon sex, big tits, tiny tits, no tits, puffy nips, etc) and even sub-categories of those niches otherwise known as cross-niches -- puffy nipped redheads, big tits w hairy bush, plumpers in stockings and heels, etc.
It's a simple word, commonly used and readily known and understood by virtually everyone. I'm sorry I don't see the problem.
Personally I don't like the word "criteria", I think it's utterly stupid and overused, but I don't see myself bitching my way on message boards into getting the entire business world to stop using it. Waste of time in my view.
