8 years ago I really encouraged a female friend with a not so common first name to register her first name. I told her how lucky she was to have be able to have her own first name as a domain. She finally registered it, but let it drop after a year. I go to that domain a couple years later and its owned by a large corporation who named a computer product the same name.
