I'm launching a mainstream venture Feb 1st... will be marketing to guys to buy a gift certificate to get their woman a custom made dress.
You order the dress gift certificate for $125 (w/free shipping US only). I mail you a measurement kit. You give here the gift certificate on Vday... you measure her with the measurement kit. she enters her measurements in the website, picks her dress and options.
My software kicks in and resizes the dress pattern to her size, a seamstress in the US makes the dress and it gets mailed out.
She receives it, loves the fit.. you take her out, then take her home ;)
