I come up with an average of about 2 per month. Mostly mainstream products/services. Some online and others which are tangible inventions or concepts.

I've come up with some good ones myself, but from idea to conception to execution, it is very very hard to do.
First of all (in most cases) you need a lot of capital if you want to do something right. Even if you have a ton of your own traffic you can use for your new project (that will help) but you will need money for a lot of other things. If you dont have traffic you will need money to get exposure on it, create it (either programming, or manufacturing and distribution, packaging, etc... if it is a physical good), a staff, a *good* patent attorny alone will cost you 10K+... thats just a the tip of the iceberg . Sooo much more will go into it, including a TON of your time.
So unless you have a several hundred thousand of disposable income then you will need investors (venture capital). In today's market even if you truely have a unique kick ass million dollar idea 99.9% of people with large amounts of liquid money are not going to toss it on something very risky. Even if they did consider it, they would want to find something that is already making money that needs capital to expand to make more, not an idea, something that is purely speculative. They will want to know "who are you" and why should I give you 100's of thousands of dollars, what have you done, etc....
1000 people might come up with the exact million dollar idea, 800 of them wont even put it down on paper muchless try to persue it, 100 will do some research, look into it some. 50 might actually spend a few bucks and play with the idea. 49 will actual give it a try and fail miserably because they don't have the resources to execute it properly, and 1 person will follow it all the way through and make it successful.
(numbers made up by me for illustration purposes)
I love coming up with great ideas, but I fall into the 999 unfortunetly. In most cases you either need to be in the right place at the right time and know the right person and get that break. The friend who has a million dollars and likes your idea or you manage to bust your ass and start it on your own, make it take off to the point that you can get lucky and snag some venture capital money to really make it take off.
