Picking a very small select few which perform better than the average in the other group is entirely not the point. The question was "What is college good for?" And the answer is, one thing it's good for is that on average, a college educated person will perform better in life than his uneducated counterpart. Picking an exception to the overwhelming majority and saying "So, it's not important to them!" misses the point entirely.
