OK here is my 2 cents, unless you have access to a garage or some land to work on them, stay away from them. They all need SOMETHING they're not telling you. I have mixed feelings about Copart. I bought 2 cars from them. One of them was alright, the other was a total fucking lemon.
I bought a Mercedes C280 for $2000. For a little bit more I had it towed to my door. The motor was SEIZED. unbelieveable. So I bought a motor for 900 and put it in. Drove it through not even 2 tanks of gas and the tranny went (wow!). Also the interiors was in much rougher condition than you can tell by their grainy ass 'vb2' photos on copart. I lost total of 6gs on this car and sold it on ebay for peanuts, like under 200 bucks just to get it out of my sight. bad memories
I also bought a mazda miata from copart at the same time for $1200. This was a fairly honest car that wasnt banged up at all. But when the shipper dropped it off there was no lower tie rods so it couldn't be steered at all... lol. quick 200 dollar fix and it was rollling. Drove it 1000 miles and the crankshaft starts to wobble off a pulley. Time for a new crank key, all new pulleys, belts,... another 1000 bucks. Then it was actually a decent car to drive for the year i kept it.
If youre going to buy a copart car be prepared to put back DOUBLE what you bought it for at the very least, or do like most of the bidders and buy 2 cars and use the 2nd one for parts. Thats the real way to do it, and sell whatevers extra left as part out on ebay or car forums. Hope that helps.
