Actually, just 'cause you asked, I'll say that I think, as a society, we should explore just the opposite. By medicating extremely young children the way we have been, large sectors of our society identify as being a-little-sick-and-thus-not-responsible. At just the age when children should be being socialized and taught that other people have feelings too, we are causing possible permanent changes to their endocrine systems and telling them not to take responsibility for their own actions. It is normal for a toddler to not wholly understand that others feel pain, but there are more and more adults in our society who are developmentally delayed in the empathy department.

I don't know a lot about this particular shooter, but pretty much all of the student school shootings were done by people who had been given certain types of antidepressants. One of the difficulties with antidepressants is that, partly because the whole point of them is to make it easier to cope, they make it easier to cope with cognitive dissonance, as well as things it is good to be able to cope with. Only cognitive dissonance is your brain telling you that you are doing/believing incompatible things and need to sort yourself out.

Although I do generally think that people who have already committed murder are perhaps not the best folks to arm, even though I am a strong gun rights proponent.
