Hi - Do you still want to do this in public. Okay then.

The information is not wrong - our servers operate on PST and that is the *exact* information pulled from mysql. Maybe it wasn't you that did it, but that's when we received the attempted signup.

Someone else must have your daughters address out there. It's a shame that of all people they had to come and sign upto us with it, given all the talk we've had about our launch.

I will see if I can touch base with the advertiser that referred the signup, and see where they might have got the traffic from for ya.

All of the webmaster program out there that pay per email address... what do you think they actually do with the email address after they've paid $1 for it - print it out, stick it in a big cupboard and forget about it??

Of course not, they advertise the crap out of it.

All we did was take our attempted signups + ex members, and mail them an offer to resubscribe. It's good business and 99% of all the paysites out there should be doing it. How do you think they can afford to pay so much per signup when retention is at all time lows??

I think it probably was someone else who put in the daughter's email address instead of their own... probably to avoid spam ; ) To avoid problems like this in the future.. Swoit should send text only emails to the addresses they are collecting. I can't see a parent getting too upset about having to erase a porn spam if it didn't have hardcore pictures in it. I don't think that should be done even if it is a known adult's address.. they could be checking their email with minors in the room, etc.

On a side note, I'd like someone to explain why she has no morals because she posed while pregnant......

put it this way...if abortion was ever legalized based on the grounds that a human is legally a human at the time of conception then that would mean the preggo fetish is technically KP.

So, you're saying if someone starts to sign up for your site and stops....and you send them a followup email that it is unwanted or unsolicited?

...and how, from the information entered on the site does one assume the personfilling out the form is an adult? I would have to assume that if someone is signing up for my ADULT site, they are in fact, an adult. If they stop filling out the information halfway through for one thing or another (maybe hubby was starting to sign up and wifey came into the room and he had to slam his browser shut) then why not follow up with an email? Maybe you save a sale?

If this were a case of someone just harvesting rooms from an AOL chatroom and spamming them, that would be different, but someone filled out that form in this case.

What is going to hurt the industry more is people running off half-cocked tryingto take a higher moral ground and getting everyone else shut down?

I disagree with a lot of the personal attacks that FT has suffered here, but one thing you can say about this industry, the same flack would have been given to a father....so GFY people are equal opportunity offenders if nothing else ;)))

Yes. If I check some box agreeing to it and submit that form, that's another story. But until that happens, it's unsolicited.
