To be very terse, we can't cater to everyone. Right now we are focused strictly on performance and conversion. The review sites that care about that, love us. To keep things strictly about the #s, our lifetime value with these review sites particularly mentioned hover at $25 (that represents a $17.95 full with approx 1.5 months retention), before even getting into affiliate payouts, processing fees, and everything else. If you want to run the #s, take out 60% for affiliate payout, 10% reserve, and 15% for overall processing fees, and you can see what you are left with. When we looked at the complaints on their sites, we saw many ppl saying their download managers cant download our entire members sections quick enough. These surfers tend to represent the most educated surfers, and given the #s and the amount of joins sent, it simply makes sense for everyone to go off on their own ways. I'd prefer not to link back to them as well, and risk their reviews actually ranking in Google for our site names, where the join gets filtered to a lower revenue model with discount pricing. For us it didn't make sense, and apparently for them it didn't make sense.
I wish those guys nothing but the best of luck. This wasn't a big deal for them to remove us, and it wasn't a big deal for us either. Really at end of day its about being focused on your core business and you can't keep everyone happy 100% of the time.
