Bringing social networking aspects into adult is something that is very much needed. In my professional opinion you are right on track with positioning yourself for the years ahead.
I'm right behind you, I'm from the affiliate side and I've been working on a network of sites on a single root domain for about a year now. Another 6 months and I'll be ready to unveil it :D I've got about 500 hours into this project so far with another 200 or so to go. Wish I could afford to work on it full time!
