You are in the traffic game. I am in the pay site game. So for those of us who run pay sites, or BROgrams who need traffic and affilates to survive. WE, meaning not traffic turds, are seeing more of our traditional traffic sources drying up.
Hence WE, again being those BROgrams and pay site owners, have to develop new traffic sources to remain competitive. None of us give two shits about traffic brokers getting more business then the year before. That is going to happen regardless as people look for more ways to monetize their left over impressions for crumbs.
Not all of use are in the traffic game. Nor the affiliate. No the pay sites or content production. While not all, most, know what I do. So when I write, I talk from my own experience and perspective. That said, trying to lump them all into some broad over reaching 'scare the newbies' mantra is ignorant.
As most BROgrams and pay site owners what they are seeing in the traffic to their sites, those patterns and conversions and I am sure it will be a lot darker picture than you're painting.
No offense.

All of my main clients grew in size last year... 100% of them grew. None of my clients that allow me to see stats are brograms, they are all hard working affiliate programs that pounded the pavement and grew from the hard work.
Several have said "record numbers" and "pre-2002 totals" happened last year and starting this year.
The game has changed, again... it's now bigger than ever!
