Who says that he burnt it down? Perhaps the person(s) who kidnapped him and wanted to use his plane were the ones to do so. Then, they drove him at gun point to his plane, tied him up, tossed him in the back and flew into the building.

And thus everyone is none the wiser, thinking that it was just a random nutjob suicide.
