I read his "manifesto" and it sounds as if he was a somewhat failed businessman that resented paying taxes and had hired some creative accountants (maybe with his encouragement) then resented it when the IRS nailed him. I have had accountants over the years and I always explicitly told them not to be creative. In fact...at one point I fired one accountant (a very good friend) who...against my instructions...became creative and as a result I had to pay a substantial sum in additional taxes.
I have never resented paying taxes...though at times I do not like the way the government mismanages expenditures.
It also sounds as if he may have watched too much of Glenn Beck's rantings...and taken the rantings seriously.
