Well we're going to buy a birthday cake. We had already purchased her gift months ago.
My mother liked to fish...scratch that loved to fish.
One time a tornado touched down at Benbrook lake in Fort Worth, it was after midnight.
My mother didn't stop fishing. She just sat there on the barge watching the storm, the winds ripped the barge from the shoreline and she all alone floated out to the middle of the lake.
She suffered from some debris that caught up in her eye, and of course my step father's car was destroyed by a tree that fell on it.
That's how my mother lived. She accepted life, and she accepted her mortality. She just didn't plain give a fuck either way.
I digress, anyway we had purchased some really cool frames that looked like fishing boats and were going to put some photographs of her and my nieces in them.
Now we have her pictures in them and they are on the shelf in the living room.
