We done code, mainly security code, for something like this. Your basic .htaccess
makes it inconvenient for unauthorized people to hotlink, but not at all impossible,
and a certain percentage of surfers won't be able to see the content if you just
use a referer based .htaccess. The security certainly can be, and has been done, though.
On the technical side, it's a third party feed like you'd have in your members' area.
It's just marketed differently.
