That type of thing is far more unpopular than a lot of webmasters think. A bit of consumer research will reveal this and some other pet peeves that are turn-offs for a lot of male viewers, but aren't necessarily talked about much yet.
As said before, give the guy a refund - he'll get his money back, with or without your doing. And a refund hurts a lot less than a chargeback.
