You can use rss feeds for more than feeding your blog updates.
They can be used as a tool that allows you to easily monitor 100's of websites, giving you a notice when they update, without having to visit them all.
I use the software:
http://www.newsgator.com/individuals/feeddemon/
I subscribe to rss feeds, normally found on blog sites, news sites, social profiles and a growing amount of sites. More than you could ever monitor.
So I take a feed url like:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/AdultWebmasterSkills
I put the feed url into feeddemon, and when AWS updates, the update appears in feeddemon. I don't to organize a bookmark or remember another website url. Never visit a site that hasn't updated again.
Welp... that's how I use feeds, I help expand the mind by motoring websites this way, far more than I do feeding websites with others feeds.
