use dude and his contacts as a bridge to put out your own solo track in distribution now that your foots in the doors and your names on the map. im sure that will go over much better with just you flying solo. you could also get a ghostwriter to write some ryhmes for you like everyone else. its the difference in hiring a designer to do a site for you, and cranking it out yourself in netscape composer
