For the same amount of money made in the US ($82,251 ? $171,550) you are in a 28% Federal tax bracket and you will also pay from 0% - 10% in State taxes, depending on the state. So in the US you would be paying 28% - 38% in taxes depending on which state you live in.
So if I live in Florida and I make 150K, I pay 28% in taxes. If I lived in Manitoba with Sleazy I would be paying 46.40% in taxes.
Florida: $42,000 taxes
Manitoba: $69,600 taxes
For an extra $27,600 I think I would rather pay for my own health care which would be at most a couple thousand dollars a year.
What about sales taxes on average. Here in the US its about 9% .
