In fact, his mother said he had flu-like symptoms for the past few days. Perhaps he was on medication for that, and it didn't mix with other meds he was on.

I don't think he was actually abusing prescription drugs. Same with MJ, the problem is they have too many doctors prescribing different shit without knowing what existing meds the person is on, thus resulting in a deadly mix.
