I've often wondered this as well, how people stay on top of it all. That said, once we sell links, we add them to a working spreadsheet and accounts management software, as well as the sites, of course.
It's incredible that anyone doing business would risk reputation over a couple of thousand dollars, let alone a couple of hundred dollars.
