I had mentioned about 1 year ago it should be a pay feature... he disagreed. It was not until his wife said you better make some money that he decided to heed my advice from long ago and make it a pay site.
Well, long story short, he, my partner, called me up because people were printing out results from our engineering site and using them as documentation. This put a spark under his ass to finish the pay project. yeah I said... good idea sherlock.
So what he did is program the site so it functions and decided it was his baby. I made every attempt to add suggestions that went nowhere and he released the fuckin site lookin like garbage. His response to me besides "I am not your employee" and "engineers want only functionality" is...
nothing...
I am rolling solo from now on. I am glad I found a new programmer and i think, likely, the best designer in this industry.
From now on it will be me.

Been there and got screwed. You are very right about partners... it's tough unless you know that person inside and out. I will only trust my girlfriend in business again outside of clients and the odd project together with people. It's not that people are inherently bad or anything, it's just that ideas don't always match up and you can fall out over power struggles.
Solo is the best way man.
