I know developers for hire who also have day jobs at some of the big tech companies making 100k+ building or working on some of the biggest sites out there(Google, Facebook, Digg, reddit, and Myspace come to mind from those I know)... yet they don't have a site of their own.

Maybe they don't want the extra hassle(servers, etc etc) and just prefer to take on many clients.


Same token, though... there are a lot of self-proclaimed SEO experts, and very few actual experts.
