I have many servers in their data center for years. They are one of the most reliable companies I have used.
It is important when asking a tech to upgrade a library or anything on a server, to give all the details and specifics of whats running and what exactly needs to be done.
I would also highly recommend backing up your site and data before anything is done.
I would say if they resolved the issue the same day, then you have nothing to bitch about. Try getting that kind of support from godaddy!
