report from natural products convention (expowest.com in socal)
There were about 56,000 people at the show this year. The show is divided into several sections with the main parts being supply, health/beauty, and food. They do their best to keep out anyone who is not in the industry and the $55 price tag keeps 95% of the public out.
The supply section has many companies providing source ingredients for supplements as well as large industrial machines for making pills and bottling/labeling.
The food section was amazing! The best drink was Juice 66. Might be new because they were giving it out to the masses even outside the event.
There were of course several variations of acai in various drinks and supplements. There were a large number of supplements, drinks, and foods that contain Resveratrol. In fact Reseratrol seemed to be the what many companies seem to be pushing as their main health miracle.
The health beauty section was pretty big as well. We went because we have an organic skincare/body care site. I rediscovered the Plantlife brand at the show. They have a stress releif bath salt that really works. I used it this morning and slept all day long. We were given several hundred $ in sample product at the show from various manufacturers. They don't just give that out to anyone, you have to talk to them the right way of course. We found a great private label manufacturer as well.
There were still several companies pushing their scammy water ionizers. I walked up to a few of them and they even admitted people cannot use purified water in the machines. So people buy an ionizer for $1-2K so they can have the priveledge of drinking dirty water. But of course that dirty water has been ionized (electrocuted)so they will live forever. LOL High PH water might be really good for you but you can just use a mineral cartridge (calcium or magnesium) to change the PH after you purify it.
I love the show because it is so easy to meet he founders and CEO/Presidents of companies who make products I love. I think this is the best part.
