Lori has always had a really stellar reputation. I've never worked with Lori, I have only met her briefly at shows but can say that people who have worked with her have relayed to me personally that they think nothing but the best of her and the services she provides. It's great to see her making a comeback, I wish nothing but the best for you, babe.

That being said, it's not right to accuse someone of theft and not show anything to back that up. Also, I really don't think he's using his illness as a business angle here. It's only being thrown into the mix to explain why an amount that some of us would shrug off has become so important to him, which is something that shouldn't have to be done. When you're owed money you are owed money, but as you can see by the sidebar comments between him and Dave sometimes knowing the dire straits of someone's situation puts their actions in a different light. I don't see it as being any different than when you discussed your illness months ago to let everyone know the severity of your personal situation.

If a job has been done someone should be paid for it, end of story. Two wrongs don't make a right and the "wrongs" that were committed on his part, if they did happen, weren't discovered for months and months after he should have been paid for the work he completed. Really what I'm getting reading through everything is someone did a job but only got paid for half the work, then was strung along for months about the other half of the payment only to find out you're not going to pay them because you suspect there may have been some shady shit going on.

If this situation does go to a lawyer, probably the first thing they are going to recommend you do is settle the remaining balance on the invoice for the work completed, otherwise you'll both be viewed as delinquent in the eyes of the judge / mediator. Also if this does go to court you will need more than showing he had access to an email account to prove he ilegally profited from the project and stole from your business. That won't hold up in a court of law and I will be surprised if it holds up in the court of GFY.
