My best friend was diagnosed with it when she was little. Her older sister was just diagnosed with it last year. The docs they have seen think it's hereditary / genetic and also said the thing that kept the older sister's crohns at bay for so many years was the fact that she smoked. I guess smoking, while it can't roll the progressment of Crohns back can in people in early stages put it in statis. Weird way that smoking in her case benefited her health. She quit smoking and the crohns came out
I didn't have Crohns, my issues were caused by a antibiotic happy dr that perscribed me too many powerful antibiotics in too short a period of time which wound up throwing off my gi tract in a very bad way. Pretty much it was like my whole digestive tract was sick. I threw up, alot. And if I didn't throw a meal up it wasn't long before I was seeing it again the other way

. On the brightside I have a chance of someday making a full recovery while my friends with Crohns will have to manage and fight flares forever.
I like the idea of having a club though

It can be some rough shit to go through. If anyone ever wants to vent, seriously, ICQ me anytime. When I was in the thick of it I withdrew, I didn't want to talk to anyone about it, I kinda shut out and shut down. I tried my best to cover it up as best I could and didnt want people to see how weak I was or let them know how serious things got. I think that was a mistake, I missed out on alot of support during the time in my life when I needed it the most.
