That is one of my biggest pet peeves with US local network channels. My local cable co. gets several US feeds, from Rochester NY, Chicago, Spokane, etc, and there is at least one channel in each locale that does this crap. Have these people not heard of watching the news?
The ones that run a news ticker across the top of your screen while you're trying to watch prime-time programming also really irk me to no end. Thank God Canadian stations haven't taken to pulling this shit. They do other little annoying things, but thankfully not that.
