The one thing I have been very impressed by with the republicans is their party unity and consistency of message. These guys are all on the same page every day of the week. I will withhold my personal opinion on their message but you have to admire the tight front they have.
I think the problem they are going to face in 10 and 12 is that they are pandering to the smallest possible base. Everyone is entitled to believe what they will but the more moderate 'big tent party' republicans were a much bigger threat then this new ultra conservative semi violent tea party that the RNC is kissing the ass of. The majority of Americans do not agree with their policies or rhetoric and now their tactics of vandalism and implied threats of violence. The republicans would do very well to distance themselves from these radicals and move more to the middle and quickly
The democrats have their own problems, they are perceived as weak on defense and as spineless as a jellyfish, but they are now being considered by many to be 'republican lite' which is more centrist and appeals to a much larger percent of the population. I do not see them losing their majorities in either house at this point
