Good point. Content is king. That said, it should be qualified as "the right type of content for the right type of audience is king". Playboy, for example, has really impeccable production values but its drawback has always been the fact that certain market segments find it "too slick". That's why Hustler filled a niche.
Same with online adult. Not every surfer is looking for gonzo nor is every surfer looking for reality type content. While production value is good, production value in the service of a well positioned and well executed targeted marketing strategy is probably what will make the difference.
