I have to disagree with you. I thought the first two episodes were good. There was some good action and we slowly started to get to know the different characters. Tonight's episode was about them and finding out who they are and what type of people they are. It showed that these guys can kill with their bare hands, yet still hang onto their humanity. It also showed that war tears people apart not just in death, but in separation and it kills people's hope for the future and causes them to be people who cannot allow themselves to get to involved with someone for fear of losing them. It makes everyone, even the non combatants, think about protecting themselves first and foremost.
The Pacific is not about the entire pacific campaign, it focuses mostly on a small group of people and their experiences within it.
It may turn out to not pull itself together, but for me the series is shaping up to be powerful and good.
