Bad idea. Ive done it before and its tough to order around a friend, much less get mad or raise your voice if he/she does a bad job.
I had a friend a few weeks ago that was having money troubles and asked for a job. I told him I didnt have anything for him and just gave him a loan (a loan I was 100% prepared to not get back, that way if he never returned it there was no hard feelings )
