Yep, when I was a kid I remember going to the slaughter houses in Iowa, they were walking up to cows and pigs and slamming a sledge hammer down on their head (Now replaced by automatic pistons that do this), slicing the throats, and then hanging them upside down..
they had shot guns on the walls in case you missed so that you could put the animal out fast..
Pretty crazy, but this is what happens all over the place.. the dolphins and whales are cute, but they are a part of these peoples culture.. just like the native indians who can still hunt certain whales.. everyone joins in on it.. and it is a part of their local economy, can you blame someone for wanting to take care of their own?
Not that I like seeing it, its pretty fucking gross looking.. However, I just don't think that the original post is as accurate about how barbaric it is.. The onlookers are probably happy to know they will be getting food and a economic infusion.
