I'd agree with Robbie. When I first got into this business that's what I did. I just visited the big sites and looked at what the owner was promoting and used that as a starting point.
Also, as an adult webmaster your tastes and your eye are probably not even close to being in line with what surfers want anymore. Make sure to sell people what THEY want, not what you want to sell them. I have to remind myself of that all the time. Read fan forums, tube comments, etc. Read user comments on review sites, stuff like that.
When I was an affiliate, some of the best sites I found to promote I found by just surfing around.
