Many of us are exclusively webmasters and have absolutely nothing to offer other webmasters. I'm not trying to sell anything to webmasters. I could put my sites in my sig but why? They're meant for surfers, not webmasters.
Frankly I have infinitely more respect for people who don't have a sig rather than sticking a sponsor's banner down there hoping to make some chump change from a webmaster referral.
