My saddest ice cream truck story
I remember back in high school, my bro and I were hanging around some Filipino gangbangers and this ice cream truck was making the rounds. I didn't know that when my bro and I were ordering some ice cream, dudes in the back were up to some funky shenanigans. Sure enough, the ice cream truck turned the corner to reveal itself as a rolling gang billboard. I remember hoping that afternoon that it doesn't roll by Vermont and Temple in LA--rival gang territory and a sure way to get shot up. Shits and giggles... back then.
Looking back now, such memories sadden me. Dude was just doing his job and had kids to feed. Didn't need the extra aggravation of cleaning up vandalism caused by misguided immigrant punks.
Nothing like age and years for some real perspective.
