If they made it realistic it would A. Be boring as hell because chasing hackers doesn't really involve police chases and international espionage, it involves a few people staring at computer screens for endless hours. And B. It would confuse the hell out of 99% of the audience. They want to attract the biggest audience possibile and those who went to see swordfish to ogle Halle's boobs vastly outnumbered those who went for a good hacker story. Boobs > Computer accuracy.
